Welcome to Team St Michael’s!

We are thrilled that you have chosen to join our fantastic school community. We truly look forward to watching you thrive and flourish throughout your journey with us. At St Michael’s, our mission is to help every pupil grow in body, mind, and spirit—a journey of discovery that begins the very moment you step through our doors on your first day of Year 7.

We understand that starting high school can feel daunting, but please be assured that you will never be alone. We are widely recognised for our caring and inclusive community, and someone will always be on hand to guide you. In your first few days, you will be supported by our Year 8 Bridge Buddies and Year 10 Peer Mentors, who are eager to show you the ropes. Furthermore, our dedicated teachers, support staff, and site team are all here to ensure you feel at home. Most importantly, you will have your own Form Tutor, who will serve as your consistent point of contact and your first port of call for any questions or concerns.

Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of welcoming over 20,000 pupils as they take these exciting first steps into high school. It is always a joy to witness the remarkable growth and confidence of these pupils developing over five years, and I know the same will be true for you as you begin your journey with us. Whilst we are proud of our outstanding academic results, the heart of our success lies in the exceptional care and wellbeing support we provide to our pupils, as you will soon discover.

It is perfectly natural to feel a few butterflies about such a significant milestone. Remember, there are approximately 225 other Year 7 students feeling exactly the same way, so you are in excellent company!
